Rant!
One of my pet-peeves is paying for parking. Anyone who has ever asked me to pick them up at the airport knows they better lug their luggage to the curve where I will swing by and grab them, therefore avoiding, what I call, the "airport parking exhortion."
I have been twisted about the parking charge at the hospital each day.
The garage/lots take cash only, my first frustration, who carries cash?!
The fee is $3.50 per half hour. Last week I was 4 minutes into the next half and paid $7.00.
Yup.... $7.00 for 34 minutes of parking. My treatment only takes a few minutes, and I really try to hightail it in and out, taking no time for salutations or meandering.

  1. Dodi,
That's terrible! In Kingston I received a pink parking slip which I displayed everyday on my dashboard....no cost at all! Just sometimes hard to actually find a parking space since there weren't many. Since my appointment last year, they have apparently expanded the parking but when they made the appointment for me, they gave me a slip for tomorrow so I dont have to pay!! Good Service from Kington! I'm not looking forward to tomorrow, but will be glad to get it over with! Just the reminders of being in the cancer centre etc.....Will let you know how it goes! Send up a little prayer for me!! :)

  2. Did you know that it costs about $62.60/square foot to build a parking garage? That means that a 10,000 sq.ft. parking garage would cost about $626,000! That's expensive. They NEED your money. Maybe we should start a charity.

  3. Dodi - I agree - it's exhortion!

Cedars-Sinai Cancer Center is located in Beverly Hills, CA. They have valet parking only. It is a flat $2 for all day. If you try to tip the valets, they refuse to take the tip. Now I feel lucky.
